Just Finished
Just finished my buddy read of A Natural History of Dragons this morning! Thanks Bewitching Books, Ravenous Reads & Books Are The New Black not only for reading with me but for being patient with my slower pace. I had SO much fun with it and that ending left me reeling!! Review to come.
Currently Reading
I started my ARC of Automatic Noodle, which releases on Aug 5th so I probably won’t be able to finish it by then. But hopefully ASAP! I’m also still going slow and steady with my Clockwork Princess buddy read and I decided to listen to the audio which I’m really enjoying. Since I like having a graphic novel on the go whenever possible, I’m midway through the first volume of Sweet Paprika. I heard someone on bookstagram mention it and luckily I found it on Hoopla. So far it’s very entertaining and pretty spicy.
Up Next
It’s now phase 2 of BBNYA so instead of starting more books next, I really need to buckle down and read my excerpts. In terms of volume, I have half as many as during phase 1 but they are much longer so it will be time consuming. However I am very excited about all of them so it’s not like it will be a chore. 😊

This week the only stuff I added to my shelves comes from my library borrows. I’m probably not even going to have time to read them all. And Doppelganger was supposed to be for a buddy read in September only it arrived way too early! Oops. 😅

August sounds like a whirlwind is coming – all the best thoughts going into the dental surgery! ❤️ The ultimate cozy/comfort go-to show for me is probably British Bakeoff … it’s just so soothing, even if you’ve seen it before. I’m constantly on the hunt for similar things 🙂
After an incredibly slugging July of reading, August is off to the races: I finished my first read last night (No One was Supposed to Die at This Wedding) and it was *fun*! 😀 Hoping the trend continues … because I have waaaaay too many books on my TBR right now. Including a fairly massive stack of library loans – how did ALL the holds come in at one time? lol
Thanks so much Rebecca 🥰 Oh what a great suggestion, I really do need to catch up on that show it’s the perfect cozy show! Have you seen the Canadian version ofthe Great Canadian Baking Show? That’s one that I love too and it does a great job replicating the cozy tone of that show.
Oh yay that’s great I’m glad August seems like a better reading month for you already! SO fun I will look it up as that title is new to me. Ahaha I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you then! Ugh I know the holds all conspire to arrive at the same time, that happens to me all the time lol

Good luck with your surgery. When I’m under the weather, I tend to not being in the mood to read. I end up watching the Game Show Network. I could watch that channel for hours. Also, I like watching marathons of HGTV’s My Lottery Dream House and Love It or List It.

I’m not sure if I should say I’m sorry or relieved that you finally have your dental surgery arranged. I hope it goes well and that you get spoilt afterwards. Given how you found Lady Trent I’d recommend Emily Wilde book wise as a cosy rec. I’m not sure what to suggest game wise though. Personally I love Dreamlight Valley 😅 also it’s like the band is giving you a birthday gift with their album coming out a day after your birthday 🥰🥰

Ahaha I appreciate the sentiment and it is a mixed bag of emotions for sure! I have definitely been spoiled afterwards my husband let me sleep in every day and let me tell you I needed it lmao! Ah yes good luck with your reread! & Chain of Thorns/Last Hours. I need to get to that point too! It was really fun! Done now and now mildly terrified to see if I still love the original series.

I loved the first two of the series but never got the finale somehow 🤔 I’m very much looking forward to it though. Ah are you rereading that one soon too then? I’m kind of tempted to do so before getting to the Magnus Trilogy but who knows if I will. I really hope you still love it 🤞
