It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
Just Finished

I couldn’t sleep recently and found Mochi’s Pugpyhood on Hoopla. Due to my fondness of dogs and puns I simply had to click and it was so worth it! As a small dog owner, I found it extremely relatable and hilarious. Mochi is so expressive and dramatic, I laughed aloud a lot.
Currently Reading

I’ve been in a bit of a slump so I haven’t read much. As a result I only have one current read which is part of my hunt for Christmas books I might like. Listening to The First Yule and so far it bodes well.
Up Next

Up next I really have to make sure I finish all of my reading for BBNYA before the deadline on Dec 15! I’ve got to finish 3 books by then so please wish me luck.

Stacking The Shelves
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, whether it be physical or virtual. Reading Reality posts on Saturdays but you can post any day that works for you— don’t forget to visit the link-up on Saturday to join in on the fun!
Last week I went shopping at the used book store near where I live and found a couple of books that I had to bring home. My used book store sells books for $1-$3 and the proceeds to go support the library so I try to go as much as I’m able to even though I don’t always find something to buy. I’ve also added a couple of ARCs to my Netgalley shelf and there’s one current library borrow to stack as well!

Let’s chat in the comments!
What book(s) are you currently reading? Or, what’s your favorite holiday or wintery read?

Your Christmas decorating tradition sounds like fun😁 I’m also very curious about The Fox and the Devil.
It was so much fun, but I do dread the opposite day where we have to take everything down, that one is less fun 😛 lol I have the ARC for The Fox & The Devil so I’m quite excited to try it!
Thanks for linking up me and introducing me to Kinnfolk. I’ll have to listen to all of their songs now! 🙂
My pleasure and I’m glad you liked that Kinnfolk song, I haven’t listened to all of their other stuff either so I’m looking forward to exploring their music more but I love that folksy music! 🙂
Sounds like such a fun weekend and I love the sound of that soup! I love Colombian food, but I haven’t tried any of their soup recipes before. Great haul as well! I hope you will enjoy them all.
Oh nice, how awesome that you love Colombian food so you might like this soup! The herb ‘guascas’ gives it its unique flavour and it has potato, chicken, corn, and we top it with cream, capers, and avocado. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne!
You’ve added some great titles to your collection
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful week
Thanks so much Shelleyrae, I hope you’ve been having a great week as well 😀 !
The Christmas decorating sounds like so much fun! Looks like a good haul from the used book store. It’s always like a treasure hunt, isn’t it? Good luck on getting your reading done!
I did have a lot of fun, Thanks, Olivia 🙂 & It really is like a treasure hunt you never know what you might find 🙂 I appreciate your kind thoughts & I hope you’re having a good week!
Mochi’s book sounds like the cutest thing ever! *_*
And I love the music you shared!!
I am also quite curious about The Fox And The Devil and about The Demon of Beausoleil!
I read Mochi’s book when I couldn’t sleep one day and I was trying so hard not to laugh out loud at like 2 in the morning because it was just so relatable and silly! I loved it! I’m so glad you liked the songs I share you, we might have similar taste in music in some ways 🙂 !
Yess I can’t wait to read those two!
In another case of strange timing I found a comment from you this morning that I’d somehow missed describing the family Christmas tradition that you’ve also mentioned here 😂 it sounds wonderful and is such a lovely way to get into the festive spirit. Well done on winning the game too 🥰 its not one I’ve heard of.
I hope you enjoyed The First Yule and that you finally found a Christmas read that worked for you 🤞I also hope you managed to get all of your BBNYA books done in time.
I quite like the second song that you shared…its just a shame that I’ve discovered it too late for Christmas 🙈
Also thats a fantastic haul, I hope you enjoy them all. I remember you telling me about Impossible Creatures. I have two of the others books mentioned too. And I have such high hopes for The Fox & The Devil, it sounds amazing 😍 I hope you enjoy them all.
That’s hilarious, yes. Which I guess does prove that it is indeed a tradition since I mentioned it twice 😂!
Thanks, I think I won the game by flying under the radar, tbh my fav way of winning. While my husband makes himself a big target and I’m just there like ‘don’t worry about me’ 😜
The First Yule was not bad, I kind of wanted more from it but I may read more in the series because I liked the world a lot! so it’s a win. I did, thank you! I was impressed with myself because I was on time for all of my BBNYA reads but it was hard work so I didn’t sign up again this year, I loved being a part of it but I may need to stagger the years I participate because of how much work it is.
Ahah I’m so glad you liked that song too, save it for next christmas? lol
Thanks & Yes I had to tell you about that find right away because of how excited I was hehe. Ohh which others do you have? 😀 Yes I hope you enjoy the ones you have also!!
Very true 😂😂
Oh lol yes that can help you win sometimes. And sounds like exactly the way I’d be handling it too – although not out of straetgy; simply out of a desire not to be noticed lol
Aww well I hope you enjoy the others set in the world if you decide to continue with it. Yay well done! That’s wonderful. But yes it does sound like a lot of work too so I can see how you’d also want a break from it, despite enjoying the process.
I guess I’ll have to as I’m not a Christmas in January kind of listener 😂
Thats wonderful, its lovely that you’re so excited for it. Stalking Jack The Ripper (which I think you know now anyway thanks to Instagram) and Truthwitch which has been sitting on my Kindle for years… Thanks (:
Ahaha yes for me it’s definitely a mix of strategy but also not wanting to be noticed so I understand lol 😂
Thanks on both counts! For sure, I will hopefully participate again another year.
I’m definitely not a Christmas in January kind of person either lol. 😛
And cool, yes I think I did see that 🙂 ! Nice okay that makes sense.
😂😂
I hope you find some good books whenever you do.
Lol maybe I shoukd be thrn I might actually get to thr few festive books I own 😂
