It’s Monday, Let’s Catch Up │#4

Hey bookworm friends and happy Pride month 🌈! I hope to find lots of new queer books to celebrate and shout about this month and all year long and I wish the same for you 🖤. I missed the last time I was supposed to do It’s Monday, Let’s Catch Up but now I’m ready to chat recent reads & stacking shelves😄! I also recently found out that the blog Always Me does the Music Monday meme too so I’m excited to be linking up with them for the first time 🥰.

Music Monday

The song I want to share today holds so much nostalgia for me. When I was in high school, my friend and I used to listen to Rock n Roll by The Sounds together all the time (and we had a little finger dance that went along with it 😆) ! It had been a while since I listened to it but then the other day I remembered it and it’s been playing on loop again 🖤. It’s so vibey and fun!

Album: Dying to Say This to You Year Published: 2006 Genre: Post-Punk Revival, Indie Rock

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Just Finished

Recently finished Ink Exchange from my buddy read of the Wicked Lovely series with Charlotte from Bewitching Books, Ravenous Reads. It was so much darker than I remembered but overall, I still enjoyed the re-read!

Currently Reading

Currently I’m listening to two audiobooks. I’ve been trying to finish more series this year so I’m on Season 3 of Phoenix Heart at the moment. I couldn’t find the omnibus edition so I’ve been having to find each part separately which is so annoying because there’s like 5 parts. And I’m at the point where I’m debating if I even want to finish it. There’s a character who’s so deeply annoying that I have to decide how badly do I want to know what happens at the end 🫠. I’m also listening to The Eyes and The Impossible because I heard that even though it’s told from the POV of a dog, nothing bad happens to them so I’m giving it a shot.

Up Next

Up next from my library holds, I’ll be getting the audio for That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf. Another series I’m hoping to make progress on since my husband already read all of them and I want to catch up! I have a feeling I won’t read many physical books this month but that’s okay. I’m on the panel for BBNYA and I’ve received my excerpts for phase one of the competition so I’ll likely be busy reading those. I’m not allowed to share which ones I was assigned yet but I’m so excited to read every single one of them!

Stacking The Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, whether it be physical or virtual. Reading Reality posts on Saturdays but you can post any day that works for you— don’t forget to visit the link-up on Saturday to join in on the fun!

I have one other library borrow that’s gracing my shelves right now and I used up some of my Google money on some e-books that were on sale. But that’s pretty much it for what I’ll be stacking my shelves with this time.
