Hey bookworm friends, I’m back with It’s Monday What Are You Reading! I was originally going to post it every week, but I don’t read fast enough for that. Once every two weeks seems like a much better pace for this meme 😄! Today is my and my husband’s first wedding anniversary so we had a lovely brunch this morning, and later we’ll probably play Stardew Valley together. In the meantime, I’ll catch you up on reading and blog stuff. Let’s also not forget Monday Music, I have missed sharing a song!

I’ve moved on to book 4 of the Veronica Speedwell series on audiobook, I’ve had a lot of bus time lately so I’m about 60% into it. I had been planning a buddy read of There Will Come A Darkness with a friend for a long time and it’s finally happening. This means I had to push back The Hemlock Queen to make room. I’ll come back to it again later not to worry! Also, my library-borrow for Poyums has arrived too so I’m reading a couple of poems per day. It’s very yellow over here these days 🌞.
Up Next
Renewed Masquerade so hopefully I can get to it soon. I also found this cute-looking graphic novel on Hoopla called The Unlikely Story of Felix and Macabber and next time I want something short I’ll pick this up😊. As always, I have my work cut out for me.

Music Monday
Since today is my anniversary, I want to share the song that we ended our wedding night with. We slow danced to I’ll Follow You by Shinedown and our wedding guests made a circle around us; as the song ended we ran around the circle high-fiving everyone. This part was spontaneous but it ended the night on such a spectacular high and it’s now one of my favourite memories. 🖤

Morgan Wade’s new album just dropped (“Obsessed”) but despite being …er, obsessed with her, I haven’t listened to it in full. Reviews are great but she can be dark and intense, and at the moment I want up and happy stuff. I’ve been listening to Lake Street Dive’s most recent singles — this one was on repeat last night:

Morgan Wade, not an artist I’m familiar with! I do like dark and intense but I feel you, I gravitate to happy stuff most during the summertime too. OH Thanks for that link, I’m actually vibing to that song, love it!! So different to what I listen to but so upbeat and fun! 😁😍

I’m not familiar with the song or group again but it seems like a good one. Initially I thought I’d heard it before in a TV show but I’m not convinced. I do like it though. And that’s such a lovely memory to have associated with it too 🥰
I’m probably picking Medea up next then maybe another standalone or possibly getting on with the Defy The Night series.

Yes my goodness I have been waiting to read this book with my friend for over a year and finally we’re getting into it, I’m so excited especially because it’s a big one and I have been missed big fantasies.
I love Shinedown so much and this song is so beautiful I get emotional every time I listen to it so I knew it had to be played at the wedding haha. Turns out I turned my husband’s mom into a big Shinedown fan too because of it haha 👍

Looking at it I don’t think I have but I used to love playing those kind of farm games online in the past so I’d probably like it.

Ah okay yes, if you ever try it let me know. I’ve been obsessed with it for years but lately a new update for it came out that added new things to the game so I’ve been playing it again.

Oh I’ve never played Runescape but sounds fun. I have not actually tried Dreamlight Valley I don’t typically play Disney themed games in general but is it fun? I have kind of been tempted just because people have said it’s great.

I got kind of addicted to it in the past 😂 I love the variety of things to do on it. Although I haven’t played it in ages now. I haven’t tried Dreamlight Valley either, I just wondered as I’ve seen it described as cosy and was curious over what it’s like. It’s good to hear people have said its great though.
I guess with so many books out there it’s hard to keep track sometimes 😅

That’s a great wedding memory! My husband and I celebrated our 39th anniversary this month. I always meant to try Deanna Raybourn’s books, but now I’m so behind.
Oh my gosh we have the same anniversary month, how awesome! Happy 39th 🖤!
I will say, I’ve been listening to the audiobooks and they are not taking me too long to get through and they’re fun though I know there are like 9 books or something, I wasn’t expecting that but now I’m glad since I love being with those characters.
