Lord of the Lost And Green Lung│Monthly Reset & Round-Up #3

Hey Bookworm friends, it’s that time again—the monthly reset, where I round up all my highlights. This month was full of activity. There was even a week I went to two metal concerts back to back: Lord of the Lost and Green Lung! To read more about that go to ‘September Highlights’ otherwise, check out the other sections from the TOC 😉.

September Highlights

Green Lung

Green Lung is a doom/stoner metal band from England and their songs are about British folklore. I only discovered them recently with the release of their 2023 album ‘This Heathen Land’ and promptly fell in love. I went to the concert with two friends and we were supposed to meet for dinner beforehand. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to dinner because it took me two and a half hours for a journey that should have taken 45 minutes! There was an issue on the subway and I was stress-sweating bullets because I hate being late but it worked out ok. We had to stand in the back, behind the sound engineer booth, but that’s what I love about intimate venues: no matter where you’re standing you can always see ok.

The band was amazing, they played all my favourite songs and we had the best time jumping around and singing along! And an adorable surprise happened: a couple got engaged on the stage (here’s an article)! I’ve never seen that before—it was so cute and I love that the band was happy to participate in making a special memory for the couple. Oh, and a perk of standing right by the sound booth? The engineer gave me the set list at the end😉!

Lord of the Lost

Lord of the Lost is a German band that straddles multiple genres: Gothic, Industrial, Metal & Rock. I’ve loved them for years and their music brought me so much joy during the pandemic. I was ecstatic to be able to see them live! I went with my husband and luckily we arrived in time to get amazing spots, right in the second row! They played big hits from a bunch of albums which is exactly what I was hoping for.

The energy in the room was electric and I had the best time dancing to the point that I was sore the next day. It was worth it😂! At the end, the band members closest to the crowd were kind enough to come by the front row and quickly greet fans and Pi (the guitarist) squeezed my hand 🖤! It was the first time each band performed in Canada, which made this week even more exciting.

What I Watched

My partner and I have been in a dnd show kind of mood so we watched Magic & Stuff on YouTube. We loved the DM, Jasmine Bhullar, so we watched Dimension 20’s Coffin Run because she DMs this campaign. It was vampire-themed and so much fun. I’ve also been watching Redwall when I need an easy show to accompany me while cross-stitching. Lastly, we watched Season 5 of Taskmaster NZ and now that Season 18 of Taskmaster UK is on, we started watching that too since it’s one of our favourite shows!

Games I Played

The only game I’ve been playing this month is Stardew Valley! I finally married Elliott (my favourite and best)! After 300+ hours of gameplay, I’ve married one of the NPCs for the first time. And now we have a pixel baby named Elliotta (because who has time to think of cool names when you’ve got a farm to run?!). One day Elliott informed me we were having a baby, then the next he left on his book tour and didn’t return until after she was born!🙃😂Not a strong start, Elliott! 🤣

Craft WIP

This month I’ve been devoting more time to continuing my cross-stitch project and here’s a comparison of where I was in July vs the end of September. The pattern is by LightUnicornDesigns on Etsy. I’m more than halfway done and all I have left is the handle of the makeup brush and her bottom lip.

  1. It was lovely to read some more details about your concerts, even if both bands are unfamiliar to me. It’s awesome that you got a handsqueeze from one event and a set list from the other, yay. I haven’t really heard of most of the shows you’ve watched but I’m glad you’re enjoying them. I’m hopefully going to start watching a bit more again soon.

I had no idea you could marry on that game. How dare he go off on tour like that though 😂 and we’ll done with the cross stitch progress. I’m sure you’ll be finished with it soon 🥰 I still need to start my sheep one but I definitely plan to soon.

Also thank you so much for linking to my post 💗

Thank you for reading it even though you don’t know the bands, that means a lot to me. I was just so excited I needed to let all my excitement out! haha
Ah okay hopefully you can start watching more shows again soon. 🙂

Yes you can marry characters but in past playthroughs I’ve married my husband’s character or not at all. This was the first time with a character from the game (he’s my favourite because he’s an author and has long hair lol) Ahahah I know right?!! So rude 😂
Thank you, I’m certainly hoping to finish it soon too!! Because it can be a Christmas gift then! Aw okay good luck with starting your sheep project 🐏
      & My absolute pleasure ❣

      • I’m glad you had such a wonderful time. I can understand why you’d be excited about it all. It sounds amazing.

Ah right. It’s nice that you can choice from NPCs & other people’s characters then. Lol well I’m glad you got your favourite. It’s pretty cool that there’s an author in there

Aww that will be lovely 🥰 thank you. I’m sure I’ll be fine once I start. It’ll definitely be sometime this month

Great progress on your cross stitch. I’ve been starting to get the urge to pick up my stitching too. Hopefully soon knitting, sewing and stitching will finally make a reappearance in my life, and blog. I’ve been missing it.

Glad you liked the review of Dreaming in Amber. I hope you are able to find copies one day in the nearish future so you can enjoy the series too. Thanks for the link

Thank you, I’m pretty happy with my progress too and yay that’s exciting autumn is the perfect time to bring back your crafty hobbies!!

My pleasure and yes what a great review! I do hope to try it for myself one day, thanks 🖤

  3. The cross-stitch pattern looks cool!

I’ve been playing a little SDV myself, although Fields has ruined me — and I’m hesitant to play more Fields because I’ve mostly run out of content 50+ hours in.

    • Veronica

      Thanks ☺!!
Oh my gosh no way you’ve played the whole Fields game already? I guess you did play it a lot. Do you know if there are any DLCs or any planned updates?

Also I played the SDV board game yesterday and it’s so fun and a cool feature about it is that you can play it by yourself, which I like! 🙂

  4. Elliot, how dare you?? That was pretty awful! I am undecided between Elliot and Sebastian but… now I may try Sebastian!! 😉
And I love the cross stitch pattern, it’s beautiful!! *_*

    • Veronica

Ahaha I know right?!😂😂 I still love him though ngl. & I hope Sebastian is better behaved lmao
Thank you 🥰!! I’m excited to see that it’s almost done, I was supposed to have it done so long ago lol.
