Hey Bookworm friends! It’s been a busy autumn season for me and I didn’t get the chance to make a wrap-up for September. So I’m combining it with last month’s wrap-up since I was pretty much in the same Halloween mood for both months anyway. Here’s what I got up to in September & October.
September & October Highlights
- My best friend got me a pottery class for my birthday so I went to the class and made two wonky little bowls on the wheel. It was challenging but I loved it!
- I used to play Dungeons & Dragons in person with friends years ago but I’ve been missing it for years. In September I started playing in person again for the first time since the pandemic. I don’t enjoy playing D&D online so I’m really happy to be able to play again!
- My husband and I had the chance to see Dropout Improv when they came to our city and it was such an amazing night out, we laughed so hard.
- I also got to go see Rocky Horror Picture Show in theater with a friend close to Halloween. I dressed up as Columbia because I still had my costume that I had made for Halloween years ago!
- Cheeto is all healed up from his amputation surgery and is back to feeling like himself. It’s been so wonderful to see him running around and being happy again. I still can’t believe how fast the recuperation period was! My friend made this video to celebrate Cheeto and I’ve been wanting to share it since I find it hilarious.
What I Watched

Finished Watching
- Wednesday, S2
- Nosferatu (2025)
- Igor
Currently Watching
- Charmed, S1-S3
- Apothecary Diaries S1
I have been wanting to re-watch Charmed for a while so when we were trying to decide what to watch for Spooky season I suggested it and my husband agreed. It’s been fun seeing his reactions and and reliving the peak early 2000’s vibes. I love this show. Also watched S2 of Wednesday which was enjoyable but I do think S1 was much better and also I’m kind of bummed that this show forgets the fact that The Addams are actually a supportive and loving family. The plot relies too much on fabricating family drama that I simply don’t buy.
My friends are obsessed with Apothecary Diaries so I started watching it and now I totally understand why they love it. I’m about to start S2 and I feel so immersed in the story. Maomao is just a delightful main character, the show is funny and poignant and the mystery is compelling. I’m in! On Halloween we watched the new Nosferatu movie and I’m surprised that I wasn’t as scared as I thought I would be. I really liked the visual effects and the acting but I think the fact that it made me angry helped keep my fear at bay😂. And then after that we watched Igor because I wanted something cute to end the night with. It was a fluffy animated movie, perfect to accompany Halloween snacks but ultimately not very memorable.
Games I Played

Video Games
- Time to Morp
Board Games
- Evergreen
- Woodcraft
We recently finished Time to Morp which was a really cute farm simulator meets creature collecting game. If Stardew Valley was in an alien planet. You explore the planet and find different types of little blob creatures called Morps and they give you various resources you can use to develop better technology. If you like engine building in games this is one you might enjoy!
In terms of board games, we’ve recently been playing Evergreen a lot. And I actually also enjoy it so much that I got the app to play by myself and practice strategies. It’s a game where you grow trees in different biomes and collect sunshine for points. Except that the tree shadows block sunlight away from other trees and each round the sunlight comes from different directions. We also played Woodcraft, a game about woodworking. Thematically, it’s adorable but the difficulty level is really hard! The first time we played, I got extremely frustrated but I did give it a second chance and enjoyed it a bit more but I know it’s not the type of game that I get along well with.

I didn’t really collect many other links lately but I am going to highlight the link to my Palestinian friend’s Go Fund Me campaign again. Winter is coming and she needs to buy a new tent and blankets to keep her family warm. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated, whether it be a donation or my spreading the word. Thanks so much.
If you made it this far into my post, thank you and I’m wishing you a very happy November🖤!
Let’s chat in the comments!
What have you been watching or playing lately? Or, what is your favourite board game?

Charmed theme song is now playing in my head. I loved that show! Glad your little pup is doing well after surgery. A pottery class sound like so much fun. I’m glad you had a blast with it. Hope you have a good November!
Ahaha it’s a fun theme song that definitely takes you back to a specific time! I love Charmed too and so happy I’m finally getting to re-watch it! Thanks, Alicia 😀 The pottery class was so much fun especially because it was just 3 students plus teacher so it was super chill and got a lot of help from the teacher which is needed 😅. Hope you have a wonderful November too 🖤!
Oh I really need to check out Apothecary Diary too. And I liked Nosferatu. I liked the atmosphere.
Yes now that I finally know why my friends love it so much I can agree and wholeheartedly recommend it! Oh good, I overall liked Nosferatu as well and the atmosphere and the acting was great!
I am curious now about Apothecary Diary, and I might check out Nosferatu soon. I wanted to watch it but I am not good with scary.
I liked Wednesday season 2. I am not an expert on Addams Family and I try separating it and seeing it as a new version, which works quite well. I liked the new elements that they introduced and the ending got me excited for season 3.
So nice you went to see things live and play some games.
Oh yes you should definitely check out Apothecary Diaries it’s so good (I mean the tv show I havent read it yet but maybe I will). I also don’t watch a lot of horror but I don’t regret watching it, It was worth it.
My complaints aside, I enjoyed season 2 as well, they’re not dealbreakers for sure 🙂 & I’m glad you were able to enjoy it for its own thing! I will for sure watching season 3 too though because the mystery aspect is super fun.
Thanks, Anna 🖤
Thank you for linking my posts! I’m sure Rocky Horror was a lot of fun. It’s been years since I’ve been to a screening. I’m so behind watching Wednesday S2, I need to catch up!
My pleasure 😀 & Yes Rocky Horror was a lot of fun, the singing along and heckling is a good time though because it was in the middle of the week it was a bit of a sparse audience but even still we laughed a lot!
I hope you like Wednesday S2 when you get round to watching it 🖤😊.
thanks for sharing my post!
You’re welcome, just hoping I can help more people to find your new meme 🙂
