It’s Monday, Let’s Catch Up │#16

Hey bookworm friends. I’ve been reading too many mediocre books lately, or rather I haven’t read many I’ve loved lately. I’m simply not as motivated by what I’ve been piking up but I’m hoping to get out of this mini slump this week with a new ARC. I did have a great weekend though! On Saturday we went to a friend’s Soup Party or ‘The Soupening’ as we called it 😂. Everyone brought a different kind of soup and we tasted them all. I made a sweet potato soup with ginger and orange zest and it was delicious, I’m happy with how it turned out and I’d make it again. Sunday, we did a lot of chores at home and played PlateUp! And with that, It’s Monday, Let’s Catch up!

Music Monday

This week I’m apparently expanding my horizons because I’m sharing two new-to-me discoveries that are different to what I normally listen to but I’ve been enjoying! I heard Click Clack Symphony yesterday for the first time and it stopped me in my tracks by how epic and sweeping it is. Her new album is coming out in a few days and this song has me curious to see what else she has up her very poofy and show-stopping sleeves! Then something completely different, The Flood mesmerized with the strange underwater piano playing and his voice. I love that it’s such a powerful song because it makes me want to rage and dance at the same time. Also, he’s Canadian!

Album: THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE
 Release Date: March 27 2026
Genre: Pop/ R&B / Orchestra

The Flood by Ben Caplan

Album: The Flood
Year Released: 2025
Genre: Folk

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Just Finished

Physical

Ok, I finally started The Apothecary Diaries light novel series and it was such a strange reading experience. I adore the anime so I was ready to adore this but I didn’t. No one is more disappointed than me. That being said, I will continue the series because it helped me to understand parts of the show that I missed or didn’t understand.

Currently Reading

Ebook

Currently buddy reading The Emilie Adventures. I recently started and I don’t have many thoughts yet except for the fact that it’s not making much sense 🤨. Time will tell.

Ebook

I started Lunar Boy to read on Hoopla before bed and so far it’s cute and sweet. I’ve heard good things and I also heard it might make me emotional so I’m ready!

Up Next

Audiobook

I borrowed the audio for The Raven and the Reindeer so I’m going to start it soon. I am just currently giving all my listening attention to a podcast so once I take a break from that I’ll go back to audiobooks.

Ebook

I’ll be starting the ARC for The Vale of Seven Dragons this week, it comes out in April and I’m excited for it!

Stacking The Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, whether it be physical or virtual. Reading Reality posts on Saturdays but you can post any day that works for you— don’t forget to visit the link-up on Saturday to join in on the fun!

This week I don’t have a lot of books to add to my shelves; in fact it might be the smallest STS I’ve ever bothered to post, with just 2 books😂! But they are both ARCS so I’ll gladly show them off as I’m curious and excited about both these titles.

Oh yes, I highly recommend it it was a fun thing to do with friends! & It was my first time having sweet potato soup and it reminded me a bit of butternut squash soup which is one of my favs because of its warm autumnal flavours. I hope you have a great week too!

  1. Lunar Boy looks like a lovely read for the evening before sleep. Happy coming reading week.

I’ve been loving reading cute comics and graphic novels rather than scrolling before bed lately and thank you I hope you have a great week too :)!!

  2. I prefer to chill at home really though when I do eventually go and do something I’m generally glad I made the effort.
Both your ARCs have striking covers.
Wishing you a happy reading week

I can relate with that, I love chilling at home but when I make plans and am out of the house it often feels good 🙂 ! Thank you, I think both of those covers are great too! I hope you are having a great week as well! 🙂
