It’s Monday, Let’s Catch Up │#15

Hey bookworm friends. This weekend was a really lovely one where I got to see a lot of friends and family🥰. It was also weirdly warm but at least that means the giant piles of snow have melted, hurray! And now I’m ready for a new week of more reading and less scrollin’ on social media. Ready, get set, It’s Monday, Let’s Catch up!

Music Monday

I recently discovered the band Beyond the Black with their new album that just came out in January and I really loved the album title track Break The Silence. As well as being catchy it’s also a great message for the days we’ve been having. The second song I’m sharing is an oldie but a goodie. A live (& orchestral) performance of Untouched by the Veronicas, or as I like to call them ‘the me’s” 😝. It had me absolutely entranced and I was so impressed and gave me a deeper appreciation of this song I’ve loved for years!

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Just Finished

Immersive Reading

Finished Wyrd Sisters and I had a really fun time with it. I’m looking forward to reading more about these witches, I enjoyed the characters so much!

Currently Reading

Physical

Charlotte, Leslie, Dini & I are continuing our buddy read of The Memoirs of Lady Trent and we’re onto The Voyage of the Basilisk now, I’m not very far in yet but I am loving it, I’ve missed being in this world with Isabella.

Audiobook

Listening to the Greenteeth audio and I’m a bit past the half-way point. Enjoying it overall but I got to a point where something happened I don’t like so I’m taking a small break before I go back to it.

Physical

A friend of mine was reading Frontier and the art alone made me borrow it from my library. They only had the French version so I took it as a sign that I need to practice reading my French, something I haven’t done for fun in years!

Up Next

Ebook

Next buddy read lined up is for The Emilie Adventures. My friends and I have been wanting to read this together for so long and it’s finally time. I have been wanting to try more from Martha Wells since I read a few Murderbot books but dnf’d the series.

Stacking The Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, whether it be physical or virtual. Reading Reality posts on Saturdays but you can post any day that works for you— don’t forget to visit the link-up on Saturday to join in on the fun!

This week I’m mostly stacking the shelves with books we purchased, which is kind of rare. I have been wanting to read Emily Wilson’s translation of The Iliad for a long while! My husband and I were talking about the Odyssey movie that’s coming out this year and how I’m excited to watch it! There’s a huge wait list for Emily Wilson’s translations at my library so we decided just to get them for ourselves. We went to a local fantasy indie book store called Bakka-Phoenix and it was so fun to browse and see what they had. He likes reading Chuck Tingle horror books so he added one of them to our cart.
There’s also another indie ARC I signed up for, and my current library borrow which will be my first light novel ever!

Looks like a good week. We had rain and melting too but still have some pretty big snow piles. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
