Bookish Lists & Blog Memes

Posts I’ve Written That Give The Best Glimpse Into Me

Hey bookworm friends, Happy Tuesday! I got an early start to the day today and went to the gym before I usually start to move around so I’m feeling great. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is fun and self-referential; I look forward to learning more about fellow book bloggers! The prompt is posts I’ve written that give the best glimpse into me. I’ve been chatting about books on Instagram longer than I have on my blog so I’ll share 5 from IG and 5 from the blog.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Don’t forget to check out her post and link up!

This was difficult because I leave a little piece of me in every post I write, but these show more sides to me than just books.

1. To learn about my comfort books/TV/movies/music.

2. To read The First Review I Wrote On The Blog 🖤 The Deep by Rivers Solomon.

3. To see part of my band t-shirt collection. The Books As Metal Bands Challenge; I love any opportunity to blend books and music.

4. To see My 2024 Reading Goals. That’s where I air out my bookish red flags and priorities.

5. To get to know my brand of humour; Meet me in memes.

6. To read about my formative books, 10 books from my childhood.

7. To enjoy the bookish details of my wedding day.

8. To read about one of my favourite fantasy series, Penric and Desdemona.

9. To share my love of Halloween generally, and the Nightmare Before Christmas specifically.

10. To share more about my hobbies outside of reading, I started my Monthly Reset series (of which I’ve only written one post so far). But I shared some beautiful pictures of my honeymoon on it.

  1. I’ll have to check out your IG once I’m home. Library’s filter blocks a lot of social media. It’s been great ‘meeting’ you this year. My blog is practically old enough to smoke, It looks like you’ve made progress on some of those 2024 reading goals!

    1. Silly me, didn’t complete my thought. My blog has so many posts the idea of going back through them to find more personal ones was too daunting to try. I just tried to spotlight ten common themes/subjects of the blog!

      1. Yes, I saw that. That is wise, thematic undercurrents is a good way to get to know your blog! And that’s besides the gaming one you got going too!

    2. Thanks, I saw you found me on IG and going by your metaphor my blog is still in its infancy lol 😂 It’s been great meeting you this year too haha. Yes, progress on some and not touched others. That sounds about right for me lol.

    1. Absolutely, any challenge that combines music and books I immediately love, Thank you and feel free to do your own if you ever want an idea, I didn’t come up with it. I’d love to see it if you ever do 🙂

    1. Samee, though I still need to read some of the newer ones I’m not fully caught up. I’m only counting the ones I grew up with at the moment though I’m sure I’ll love the rest too.

  2. I’ve saved this post so that I can check your Instagram posts out properly once I start using it again. I’m looking forward to them though 🥰 and I’ve really loved the posts that I’ve read by you so far. I’ll go and check out your first blog review now. I remember going to look at it before but hesitating due to the comment issue at the time. I’ll check out your goals too. Well done for the gym start. It always feels good when you accomplish something different before you’re usually up.

    1. Aw thank you Charlotte, that is so sweet 🙂 & I love all your posts that I’ve read too 🖤 Oh haha yes I did have a comment issue before so glad I managed to fix that 🙂 lol My husband and I have been recently attempting to be more conscious about going to the gym and it’s a thing I really hate but I’ll be happy if it can get into the habit.

  3. Thank you 💗💗 I’m glad you managed to get it sorted in the end. Ah right. Well I hope you manage to get into it then. I always get self conscious about it 🙈 they tend to have lots of different things available though so I hope you find something that you enjoy.

    1. yeah we just go to the small gym in my building which isn’t far away at all so I don’t have many excuses if I don’t go haha. I usually just do the bicycle and running. I have weights too but I have to follow a video which I don’t like doing in public places coz I feel awkward lol 😂

      1. Ooh that sounds convient, being in your building. Besides the no excuses aspect anyway 😂 I definitely understand that, it’s so easy to get self conscious about some things. My only suggestion is music, although even with it I’d be self conscious.

        1. Yes it’s convenient for sure 🙂 & I usually listen to an audiobook, or podcast or music in the gym depending. I definitely need some entertainment to keep going haha 😂 The other day my headphones died as soon as I got to the gym and it was rough lmao.

          1. I definitely need to try and get into audio books, there are so many times when they can be useful. Aww I hope they’re okay now. That must have been frustrating

          2. Yeah what I love the most about them is that I can read when I have other stuff I need to do lol. 😂 lol it was so silly of me !

    1. I am currently reading it right now finally, took me SO long to get around to it! I still think the title would make a cool band name and the plot does feel pretty doom and gloom overall so kind of accurate lol! 😂

  4. What great picks! These definitely give a good insight into you as a person. I love the idea of ‘comfort books’ and might have to steal that prompt for a future post 🙂

    1. Thanks, Becky 🙂 I had a lot of fun thinking about what media I go back to when I need comfort, I’d love to see it if you do the challenge/tag too 🙂

    1. Ohh your kiddo has good taste haha, it’s been one of my favs since I was a kid too lol Kinda jealous of the Zero stuffed animal not gonna lie😂. I have collected quite a bit of stuff throughout the years too, because the art and imagery is just so good! Anyways I agree I like this theme for TTT a lot and it was fun to explore ppl’s blogs a bit better 🙂
