Yess, it doesn’t matter if it’s realistic, magical, secret, haunted…whatever If it’s a library I’m there!!

  1. Ooo, I would definitely pick up anything with The Accolade on the cover! Library and Witches are also buzzwords that get my attention!

    • Veronica

Yes, anything with the vibes from The Accolade or the painting itself on it cover? I’d eat that up too, hehe! Oh yay it’s nice we have a few buzzwords in common.

    • Veronica

grumpy x sunshine, the “x” being an alternative form of writing versus. So books where there’s a grumpy character and a sunshiny, upbeat character and they’re either in a relationship or friends. 🙂 Thank you, I was hoping the gorgeous paintings would be good examples of the atmospheres I like. 🙂

    • Veronica

Ah yay I’m so glad you love all of those things too 😀 !!

  2. Sentient objects are so interesting to read about. Do you like xenofiction as well?

    • Veronica

I do enjoy a good sentient ship or talking sword or anything like that! I do like Xenofiction to a certain degree but I need to read more of it. It crosses the line into experiencing trauma in the POV of an animal which is something that I can’t stand so I tend to prefer when the Anthropomorphism is harder rather than softer if that makes sense.

    • Veronica

Oh yeah, the buzzwords alone aren’t enough to make me read a book but they do enough to make me sit up when I am reading the blurb and think “I’ll probably like this”.

    • Veronica

Thanks for visiting my blog and happy to hear we have those things in common! 🙂

  3. Fay

So many good ones! I’m also a sucker for grumpy x sunshine, lady knights and dragons 🙂

    • Veronica

Hard not to love those am I right? XP

  4. Bookish books (like a library or book lover) are always great reading possibilities. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my list today!

    • Veronica

I couldn’t agree more! When a character is also a book lover I immediately feel a kinship with them haha 🙂 My pleasure.

  5. Oh yes to bookish settings! Love that! Finally happy to see them happening in books in fantasy as it used to just be contemporary and I always avoid those! Yay Death as a character! Lol. Also like witches and demons and all other paranormal types!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

    • Veronica

Ah yess I avoid contemporary fantasy and contemp fiction in general so I have to agree with you there! And my pleasure :D!

    • Veronica

Woohoo happy to hear that 😁!!

    • Veronica

Yes that’s true they do kind of go hand in hand sometimes 🙂 !!

    • Veronica

Yesss! I find both of those hard to resist 🙂

    • Veronica

Honestly such a comforting setting 🥰.

    • Veronica

Ohh yess great idea, combine a bunch of those elements and I’m there too hahah :D!!

  6. Death as a character is so so intriguing, especially when a book explores Death related to morality. I like a more ambivalent take on Death. Lady knights is something I would love to read more of. I have a couple of books on my shelf that fit the bill. Great list!

    • Veronica

Yes, I like a more ‘I am just a force of nature, not evil’ type of Death character. I need to read more Lady Knights myself as well! Thank you 😀

  7. Wow, I can’t believe I forgot the words about libraries or anything bookish, haha. 🤦🏻‍♀️ My brain clearly wasn’t working! Great list! Totally agree with so much of this 😍

    • Veronica

Ahah when I looked at other people’s lists there were so many words I should have added too, realistically 10 is too little 😛 lol Thanks, Dini glad we agree 😉

  8. Nic

Based on 1-4, I have to ask… Have you read World of Five Gods by Lois McMaster Bujold? I feel like Curse of Chalion and Paladin of Souls would tick a few boxes for you. I can’t comment on book three as I haven’t gotten around to reading that one yet – hopefully next month

    • Veronica

Ahah Excellent question! The only books I’ve read in the World of Five Gods are the Penric and Desdemona books and I Love them!! But I have not read the Curse of Chalion or Paladin of Souls yet…I’ve been wanting to and really should get on that! Thank you, Nic 😀 I hope you love book three as well, then!

  9. Gem @ Gem's Book Talk

Oh yes, definitely libraries (or, by extension, bookshops!)

    • Veronica

Ohh bookshops too, yes!! Great addition, I highly approve 😜!!

    • Veronica

I think so too 😀 and yess I’m not surprised you like book related books too 😉 hehe Thanks, friend!

    • Veronica

Yes, I don’t disagree, there are lots of dragon books that I just don’t care to read for other reasons but there will always be more dragon books that I do! 🙂
