Top 10 Oldest Flowery Covers On My TBR

Top 10 Oldest Flowery Covers On My TBR

Hey bookworm friends. May is here and the flowers are on their way…they might be taking their time since it’s been a bit colder than usual this season. Last time I did the ‘May Flowers’ TTTopic, I focused on the most recent flowery covers I had added to my tbr. So this time around I thought it’d be fun to look through the oldest books on my tbr, find flowery covers and see if I’m still interested in reading them or not.

Yes, that is what caught my attention! And oh thank you for the recommendation, you know I’m about to add it to my tbr 😃!!

    • Veronica

Thank you, me too I love how bright and colourful they both are!

    • Veronica

Hmm interesting, sounds like it surprised you in a good way 🤔!

    • Veronica

I can see that being a book you’d like and actually me too! 🙂

  1. Yes I’d still like to read the Harrow and Penner books. I like how you have looked at your TBR and decided what you wanted still to read and what you wanted to jettison. Good idea.

    • Veronica

Me too, they both still intrigue me! Thank you, too bad I didn’t get rid of more than one but the one I jettisoned is the oldest one and perhaps my tastes have changed a bit since 2013.

    • Veronica

Oh that sounds like such a fabulous combo, Harrow + nature walks?! Brilliant & glad you enjoyed it, Pam 🙂

    • Veronica

Thank you, Ashley! I think so too :D!

    • Veronica

Ah, interesting. Sometimes mixed reviews turns me off but in this case it’s only making me more curious and yeah the size of it is mildly daunting haha!

  2. I loved Uprooted. I haven’t read anything else by the author, but I really enjoyed this one. The Bird King looks really interesting. I think it’s on my TBR. I read a couple of volumes of Ms. Marvel was she was doing them.

    • Veronica

Aw I’m so happy to hear that! 🙂 & I only learned that she did Ms. Marvel while looking things up for this post that’s cool! 🙂

    • Veronica

Ah, awesome I’m so glad you love it. Nice to see how many people seem to & thank you 😀

  3. I love this approach!! Absolutely yes for The Once and Future Witches! It’s such a good one and all her books have been amazing.

    • Veronica

Thank you :)! Yes I’ve only read one book and one short story by her but I’m convinced I’ll love her other works! (and yet still haven’t picked them up)

  4. The Lost Apothecary is stunning. I’ve had it on my TBR for ages. Should probably read it at some point. Excellent choices!

    • Veronica

Ahaha exactly how I feel about it too! & Thank you, Eva! 🙂

  5. What a fun approach to this topic! And so many pretty covers too. World of Wonders has my attention.

    • Veronica

Thank you & I love so many of the covers too 🙂 World of Wonders sounds like an interesting mix of nature writing and memoir, I’m not sure but I’m intrigued!

    • Veronica

I’m glad to hear you liked it! & Thank you for stopping by 🙂 !!

    • Veronica

That’s awesome, It truly sounds so good! 🙂

  6. I honestly love that cover for The Grace of Kings. I don’t know what about it is just so eye-catching but it does me every time! This reminds me that I have the Lost Apothecary on my TBR as well and it’s been on there for way too long 🫣 Great picks and I hope you enjoy these whenever you get to them!

    • Veronica

It is very eye-catching! The combination of the starkness of the helm with the brightness of the flower. Oh haha I know that feeling lol! Thank you, Dini :D!

  7. OOh nice ones! Some of these are familiar to me but most are totally new to me ones. Loving the subtle floral look to them though! Hope you’re able to read them some day soon!

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

    • Veronica

Thank you :D!! I did think some were maaaybe a bit too subtle but I’m glad you appreciate that haha! Thank you and my pleasure! 🙂

  8. Oooh I’ve never heard of Heart of the Fae and it sounds so good! Anything with Irish mythology, and I’m hooked. I’ve also had The Once and Future Witches on my TBR for soooo loooooong! That procrastination got me

    • Veronica

It does sound so good right!? I do enjoy stories with Irish Mythology! haha I know that feel! Hopefully we’ll both be able to get to that one sometime soon!

    • Veronica

Thank you! 😀 I almost wish there were more I would have gotten rid of but alas they mostly do still sound good to me lol.

  9. Ooh what a fun way to go about the topic and potentially reduce your TBR a little too without it becoming an overwhelming experience. I love that cover for Uprooted 😍 and I’m glad to see its also one that’s sticking around. Heart Of The Fae sounds intriguing. And I’m sure I’ve seen some rave reviews for the author over on Instagram 🤔 Im intrigued by the next two you’ve mentioned too. This post is apparently a bad one for my own TBR 😂🙈

Yay so glad to see The Once & Future Witches sticking around too. That became my surprise favourite back when it came out 😍 I have The Lost Apothecary on my Kindle and really must get to it sometime. I’m curious about the Ken Liu series too. And as to the non fiction I need to know what the pink kind of fantasy looking creature is on the cover 😂

My favourite flowers a dahlia but I do love a sunflower too.

    • Veronica

Hehe I thought so too 😃! & Yes I love the cover for Uprooted as well! Have you read that one? Ah, cool. I heard about Heart of the Fae from a booktuber a few years ago and I’m glad you’ve seen good things about the author too!
Oops 😂😉! Glad some of them appeal to you though!
Ahh okay knowing it was your surprise fav that year is making me want to pick it up soon, I can’t believe I still haven’t! Oh nice haha, I hope you can get to that one soon!
The pink creature on the nonfic book is an Axolotl, or at least I’m like 90% sure of that.
& Dahlias are also super nice and given you have some in your yard I should have known they’d be your favs!

      • Not yet but I really want to. I’m not sure if I have the ebook or not. I have one of the authors fairytale style stories but can never remember which. Both are definite must reads on my TBR though.

Thats lovely, hopefully it’ll be an addictive read then.

I really hope it works for you too 🤞 but feel free to be honest if it doesn’t. Have you read anything by the author yet? Thank you. I hadnt heard of them before but they do look the same having Googled them. Some of the pictures look unreal almost. As does the blobfish that showed up beneath 😂. Last years havent came back yet so I got two more. I don’t know what happened to them as I had a few last year 😪 at least they’re reasonably cheap to buy and always have plenty to choose from

  10. I’ve been meaning to read The Once and Future Witches for ages. Thank you for stopping by Long and Short Review’s post earlier!

    • Veronica

Glad it’s not just me, honestly 😂! & My pleasure!

  11. It’s nice that you’re still interested in reading most of the books on your TBR. I feel like I need to do a big sort of my lists on Goodreads because I know there are many on there that I’m just nto that keen on anymore. I’ll get around to it one of these days…I hope you enjoy all these!

    Happy TTT (on a Thursday)!

    • Veronica

It does look like at least my tastes have remained similar over the years! 🙂 & That’s a good idea though I know how time consuming that is haha Good luck :)! & Thank you!!

    • Veronica

Thank you :D!! & Okay that’s really good to know because I feel like I often hear people say they prefer Spinning Silver to Uprooted so it’s nice to hear when someone says they like Uprooted lol.

    • Veronica

Yes I’m super curious about The Once and Future Witches, too! And happy reading to you too, thank you 🙂 !
